This course made me realize that I used to think about water scarcity in a very simple way: if a place has enough rain, there should be enough water. I now understand that this is not always true. Infrastructure, climate change, groundwater depletion, and the connection between water, energy, and food can all have a huge impact. What struck me most was how interconnected everything is. I was especially surprised to learn that drought can actually contribute to flooding, and that a city can lose a huge amount of treated water simply because of leaking pipes. The lesson about desalination also made me think differently about technological solutions, because even when we can create fresh water, there can be energy and environmental costs. Overall, this course made me much more aware of how valuable and fragile water resources are. It also made me realize that solving water problems requires looking at the whole system, not just at how much water is available.
The aspects of desalination that I wasn't aware of are very interesting. I didn't know that brine posed a problem for the nearby ecosystem. The points regarding credits are also interesting. Great Job.

I enjoyed the part about fossil aquifers - I was living under assumption all water reservoirs can be restored by precipitation or melting snow/ice. Turns out - there are reservoirs storing water for thousands of years and can't be restored if pumped completely dry. Earth stores millions of years of our history. Amazing!
I really enjoyed this course because the instructor explained the concepts very clearly. The practical examples were extremely useful, and I learned a lot of new skills that I can apply directly to my daily work.
I learnt so much about global water cycle for the first time. It's good to conserve our water for the sake of humanity to avoid depletion of water in the future
This was really useful - and to be honest, I didn't have a great perspective on how interconnected our water systems were before this course. I especially appreciated the links to municipal infrastructure.
